Yoga, Meditation and Ayurveda Retreat

21st Jan 2019 4th Feb 2019  |  Tiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu, India

A spiritual retreat with daily yoga & meditation and classes in the ancient yoga philosophy and ayurvedic life understanding. In this retreat, Govind takes you by the hand all the way and he dedicates his full time to help you and your group to get the most out of each day. The aim for Govind is to pass on tools for you to go deeper into self-discovery on the basis of individual guidance, classes and reflective group sessions. The course takes place inside the resort and "out there" in the amazing Tiruvannamalai - in the middle of the ancient spiritual vibrations in ashrams, meditation caves, temples and on the pilgrim walk around the holy mountain Arunachala.

Each afternoon you have some hours to "digest" on your own: visit your favorite ashram, drink a chai in the local tea stall, chill out with a fresh papaya juice or have a refreshing swim in the pool at the resort. But most of the time you are with the group and will be guided by Govind. To be very specific, during this retreat you will have 100 hours of guidance and teaching with Govind.

A Devine Source of Inspiration

You have come to a holy place with unique rays of spirituality. Here, Govind helps you to go deep with your personal spiritual practice with yoga, meditation, ayurvedic life understanding and self-reflection. You will be inspired and will discover a new understanding of yourself by his satsangs, classes and reflective group talks based on the ancient knowledge of yoga, meditation, ayurveda and vedanta (oneness philosophy). You will also meet face to face with different enlightened masters who may give you a new viewpoint of your approach to understanding life. As a part of the course we visit different ashrams, amazing temples and of course we walk the famous pilgrimage route around the holy mountain Arunachala because most of all, you will be touched by one of India’s most holy pilgrimage placesTiruvannamalai, the city with Arunachala; the sacred mountain of fire, and Ramana Ashram; the center for searching the higher Self as showed by the saint Ramana Maharshi.

Visit a guest - not as a tourist

Govind invites you to “his India” - in his home country and to the mountain Arunachala where Govind has been meditating since he was a teenager. This opens an opportunity for you to learn from the inside of an ancient, rich and unique culture. Together, we cross the usual tourist border lines and make you feel as a participant rather than a spectator. All guest teachers -including swamis and other radiating personalities - are people Govind and Anna Marie is personally connected to. The places Govind takes you to are places that inspire him the most whether it’s an amazing temple or a poor farmer in his hut. They all have stories to tell. And this is what often inspires our guests the most: the direct contact.

Spiritual Approach

The classes and guidance are based on the ancient Advaita Vedanta (non-dual) philosophy. We use the tools of yoga, meditation and ayurveda to reach a deeper understanding or experience of the essence of Self-Realization as Ramana Maharshi exemplified it. Classes are non-religious but relate to different approaches of the divine aspects of life and your individual session may include both astrology and palm reading. Subjects will differ according to the group’s experience, challenges and interest and the subjects chosen by the guest teachers.

Retreat base

The base for the course and your stay is the resort Arunai Anantha. It is located by the foot of the holy mountain Arunachala away from the traffic noise and crowds of the small roads in the ashram area in Tiruvannamalai. Here Govind gives spiritual classes and we discuss and reflect upon our experiences by the holy mountain. We use the spiritual surroundings outside the resort daily and will spend much time in the peaceful vibration of the saint Ramana Maharshi in Ramana Ashram – just a five minutes’ drive away.
